4. Purposes for which we process your data

6. Retention periods
We will retain your automatically collected personal data for a period of three months, in general. We will only retain such data for a longer period to the extend that this is necessary to investigate attacks of our website. We will retain the personal data we are collecting in the context of an order you have placed for seven years and the data that we collect during your use of the service portal at least for as long as you are registered in the portal. Thereafter we will keep your data as long as there are statutory retention periods or potential legal claims are not yet time-barred.

We collect this data either from you directly by providing us with your personal data by e.g. sending us an email or placing an order with us through our online portal. We may also collect some of your personal data in the course of the communication or business relationship with you.
Where we ask you to provide us with your data, the provision of your personal data is voluntary. However, if you do not provide your personal data you will not be able to make use of our services or to attend our events.

We process your personal data on the basis of our prevailing legitimate interest according to Article 6(1)(f) General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) to achieve the purposes set out above. In case you have already concluded a service agreement with us or we are in the course of negotiations, we process some of your personal data on the basis of the necessity for the performance of the agreement or to take steps at your request prior to entering into the agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We may ask you for your consent to process your personal data at some points throughout our business relationship. In case you provide your consent, we will be processing your data on the basis of this consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may revoke your consent at any time.
3. Retention periods
Where we have concluded a service agreement with you, we will retain your personal data at least until the termination of the agreement. In cases where we process your personal data in order to organize an event or to provide you with information on events and our services, we will keep the data for at least until the end of the event or our relationship with you and thereafter for three years. We will, in any case, retain your personal data for as long as there are statutory retention obligations or potential legal claims are not yet time-barred.
